For nearly 25 years, The Framing Express, has set standards in the custom framing business. It began with a dream by Bob and June Vogelsberg. The dream started with selling June's handmade craft items in the back of his milk delivery truck to a small craft store on Lexington Road that grew to be Dee's Crafts by 1973. Bob was always the entrepreneur looking for new opportunities. In 1986 the Vogelsbergs began meeting the fast growing demand of the custom framing business in Louisville, Kentucky. Keeping up with the latest techniques and products the framing industry had to offer and setting a few standards themselves, they managed to build one of the largest framing companies in the country. Today, Framing Express is host to 5 Louisville locations, offering the highest of professional and creative assistance to thousands of customers, while providing quick and efficient delivery time!

Welcome Home!

When framing was first added to our craft stores we did what most of the frame shops were doing. We had hundreds of frame corner samples in the stores and when a customer placed a custom frame order we would order "chops" or frame pieces pre-cut from a supplier. Getting them shipped was costly and on some orders took up to two weeks to receive. My father saw an opportunity to cut out the "middle man" by buying the product in bulk, cutting the frames ourselves, and passing the savings on to the customer. Being able to frame a custom order within two days helped our business grow quickly!

25 years later, the Framing Express stores are still family owned and operated by Mike Crombie, along with a group of dedicated staff, who have become part of one big family over the years.
